Although his last show on FOX tanked, veteran actor Christopher McDonald is sticking with the network. No longer "Cracking Up," McDonald will wash up on "North Shore" for four episodes beginning at the end of July.

McDonald will make his "North Shore" debut on Monday, July 26, playing hotel giant Walter Booth, a ruthless businessman who may have his eye on the Grand Waimea Hotel. The only thing certain is that he'll be keeping his eye on his daughter Nicole (Brooke Burns), who only recently started work on the staff of the Waimea.

The ever-busy McDonald may not have found a large audience with the dysfunctional comedy "Cracking Up," but viewers know his face from features dating back to "Grease 2" and stretching through the likes of "Thelma & Louise," "Happy Gilmore" and "Requiem for a Dream." His other small screen credits include "Family Law" and guest appearances on shows including "Without a Trace" and "Empty Nest."

An integral part of FOX's June summer launch, the jury is still out on "North Shore." The show has averaged around 5.1 million viewers per episode, an unimpressive tally if it had been a fall starter, but FOX is mostly looking for growth in this phase of the network's year-round schedule.
